Who is making Persona 4 Revival?
P-Studio, ATLUS’s own Persona team, is developing it in-house. MAPPA is animating every animated cutscene — the in-engine ones are not its work. Ryota Kozuka is the credited composer, and Shoji Meguro has not been announced on this game in any role. Two more things people routinely state as fact, the director and the engine, have never been announced at all.

What people actually ask
- Is Shoji Meguro composing Persona 4 Revival? Not announced
- ATLUS credits Ryota Kozuka of the ATLUS Sound Team as Revival's composer, and has not credited Shoji Meguro in any role on it. That is not the same as saying he had nothing to do with it: Meguro wrote the original Persona 4 score, and Revival's soundtrack is officially described as remixes of familiar tunes alongside brand-new tracks — so his compositions are the material being rearranged. Meguro left ATLUS in 2021 after 26 years and works freelance; ATLUS said at the time it would keep developing new titles with him, which is why the question keeps coming back. No announcement has connected him to this one.Persona 4 Revival official site (SEGA Asia) — REVIVAL feature page · · Persona Central · RPGFan
- Who is directing Persona 4 Revival? Not announced
- No director has been announced. ATLUS has named a general producer (Kazuhisa Wada), a character designer (Shigenori Soejima) and a business producer (Atsushi Nomura), and Wada is the one who fronts the broadcasts and interviews — but a Revival-specific director credit has not appeared in any official material. Listings that show a director are filling the gap from studio job titles rather than from an announcement.FinalWeapon · · Persona Central
- What engine does Persona 4 Revival run on?Not announced
- ATLUS and SEGA have never stated it. Unreal Engine 5 is repeated almost everywhere — including in the game's Wikipedia infobox, where the claim carries no citation — but it traces back to how the reveal trailer looks rather than to anything the developers said. No official page, press release or broadcast names an engine. Until one does, treat UE5 as a widely shared assumption rather than a fact.Persona 4 Revival official site (SEGA Asia) ·
- Is Persona 4 Revival outsourced?Partly confirmed
- The game is developed in-house by P-Studio, ATLUS's own Persona team — that much SEGA stated in the announcement. One significant piece is external and confirmed: MAPPA produces all of the animated cutscenes, announced by MAPPA's president in person at Anime Expo 2026. Beyond those two facts ATLUS has not published a production breakdown, so any claim about wider outsourcing is speculation.Anime Corner · · SEGA (official announcement) · Gizmodo
